In the title compound, C31H24F4N2O, the bicyclo-[3.3.1]nonane ring exists in a chair-boat conformation. Two of the four fluorine-substituted rings adopt equatorial dispositions with the piperidin-4-one rings. Mol-ecules are linked into a two-dimensional network parallel to ( 01) by N - H⋯O, C - H⋯F and C - H⋯O hydrogen bonds. Inter-molecular N - H⋯π and C - H⋯π inter-actions are also observed. © 2008.

Abstract Some novel 9-((arylidene)hydrazono)-2,4,6,8-tetrakis(4-methoxyphenyl)-3,7-diazabicyclo[3.3.1]nonane azines were synthesized, and characterized by use of spectral data. The bicyclo-[3.3.1]nonane ring in the title compound, C39H 44N2O, adopts a chair-boat conformation with the four benzene rings being directed away from the carbonyl group. The presence of C - H⋯O contacts leads to helical supra-molecular chains along the b axis.
