All non-H atoms of the title compound, C12H12ClNO, are co-planar (r.m.s. deviation = 0.055 Å). The hydroxy H atom is disordered over two positions of equal occupancy. In the crystal, mol-ecules are linked by O-H⋯O hydrogen bonds, generating zigzag chains running along the b axis.

The role of methoxy group substitution in various positions in both the rings of chalcones on cytotoxicity profile was studied using various synthesized chalcones. The fluorine containing acetophenones when reacted with various methoxy-substituted benzaldehydes in the presence of 10&nbsp;% sodium hydroxide solution gave the functionalized chalcones. All the synthesized chalcones were confirmed by spectral techniques like FTIR, 1H NMR, 13C NMR, and HRMS studies. All the synthesized compounds were screened for their cytotoxicity against various cell lines. The promising compounds were analyzed for cell cycle analysis.

Potential cytotoxic and apoptosis inducing agents: synthesis and evaluation of methoxy-substituted chalcones against human lung and cervical cancers

AbstractThe Mitsunobu reaction is a well-established fundamental reaction and has been widely applied in organic synthesis. In this paper, under Mitsunobu conditions dehydration proceeds between (2-chloroquinolin-3-yl)methanol and nitrogen heterocyclic compounds such as quinazolinone, pyrimidone, 2-oxoquinoline in dry THF in the presence of triethylamine, triphenylphosphane and diethyl azodicarboxylate to give the corresponding products. As part of our recent research, we attempted to couple two N-heterocyclic compounds under Mitsunobu reaction conditions to provide efficient building blocks for natural product synthesis.

Regioselective N-alkylation of (2-chloroquinolin-3-yl) methanol with N-heterocyclic compounds using the Mitsunobu reagent

In the title molecule, C19H14ClN3O, the quinoline and quinazoline ring systems form a dihedral angle of 80.75 (4)°. In the crystal, the molecules are linked by pairs of C-H⋯N hydrogen bonds into centrosymmetric dimers, generating R22(6) ring motifs. The structure is further stabilized by C-H⋯π inter-actions and π-π stacking inter-actions [centroid-centroid distances = 3.7869 (8) and 3.8490 (8) Å].

3-[(2-Chloro-6-methylquinolin-3-yl)methyl]quinazolin-4(3H)-one

In the title compound, C11H10ClNO2· H2O, the organic molecule is roughly planar (r.m.s. deviation = 0.074 Å). In the crystal structure, molecues are linked by O-H⋯O and O-H⋯N hydrogen bonds and weak C-H⋯π and π-π inter-actions [centroid-centroid distance = 3.578 (3) Å] consolidate the packing. A short Cl⋯O contact [3.147 (3) Å] is also observed.

(2-Chloro-8-methoxyquinolin-3-yl)methanol monohydrate

In the title compound, C15H12ClN3O, the quinoline ring system is essentially planar, with a maximum deviation of 0.017 (1) Å. The crystal packing is stabilized by π-π stacking interactions between the quinoline rings of adjacent molecule, with a centroid-centroid distance of 3.5913 (8) Å. A weak C - H⋯π contact is also observed between molecules. © 2010.
