Abstract
A compact open ended CPW-fed ZOR antenna is presented and developed. The CRLH transmission line is terminated by a rectangular stub offers high capacitance at higher frequencies and therefore acts as a virtual ground plane. The effect of meandered line inductor is also investigated as resonant frequencies can be configured by varying the current travelling paths. Series capacitor is provided by means of conventional interdigital capacitor. Proposed antenna has compact size with 0.24 λ0 × 0.16 λ0 × 0.013 λ0 at 0 = 2.45 GHz. It shows simulated gain of 1.25 dB with 80.2% radiation efficiency at 2.45 GHz. In addition to that presented antenna shows excellent omnidirectional and dipolar type radiation patterns at H-plane and E-plane respectively with cross polarization level is as below as -50 dB. This antenna is suitable to be used for Bluetooth applications. © 2016 IEEE.
