A novel approach for Content based image retrieval system based on wavelet with Principle Component Analysis (PCA) using Haralick texture feature(HTF) is proposed in this framework. Feature extraction on the retrieval process is performed by combining PCA and wavelet transform. PCA positions eigenvectors of an image in such a way that wavelet coefficients are created. The statistical parameters are calculated by using HTF’s. Five statistical parameters are calculated from every individual image, namely energy, entropy, variance, homogeneity and autocorrelation. This proposed method gives better retrieval results when compared to the existing methods. © Research India Publications.
