A hybrid non-isolated compact DC–DC converter with high voltage conversion ratio and operating at higher power level is proposed in this paper. A three phase interleaved structure comprising of coupled inductors with minimum turns ratio is used to enhance the power handling capacity. The required voltage gain is obtained using a voltage lift capacitor and extended using a voltage multiplier cell to meet the standard DC distribution voltage level. The three primary windings are coupled to one secondary winding and are wound on the same magnetic structure to make the converter compact in size. The analysis and detailed experimental results of the proposed converter operating from 60 V input, providing 1.1 kV to the output and capable of handling 3 kW of power, demonstrate the novel features and suitability of the converter for DC distribution. © 2018, Copyright © Taylor & Francis Group, LLC.
