Abstract
This paper proposes a novel design of a microwave power divider circuit with enhanced harmonic suppression. The proposed power divider circuit uses a low pass π - filter section to suppress the harmonics. The advantage of using the π - filter section is its simplicity in the design due to use of open circuited shunt stubs. The proposed power divider circuit is designed at an operating frequency of 3 GHz and for equal power division (1:1). The circuit is realized in RT Duroid substrate having the following specifications: Dielectric Constant (□r) = 2.2, substrate thickness (H) = 1.6 mm, metal thickness (T) = 0.05 mm, loss tangent (tan δ) = 0. The return loss achieved is -60.612 dB at the operating frequency of 3 GHz. The proposed power divider is simulated in AWR Microwave office suite and it is observed that the harmonics are suppressed above 3 GHz. © 2013 IEEE.
