Solar energy, because of its abundance and everlasting nature, has established itself as one of the prime alternate sources of energy which could supplement and may eventually replace the fast depleting conventional sources of energy like fossil fuels and nuclear material. Black coatings are widely used in numerous applications e. g., decorative coatings, solar panels, optical instruments[1]. In this paper, an attempt has been made to review the different techniques of black coatings used in the conventional industrial methods and black coatings for solar applications are particularly presented and discussed. © 2016 International Journal of ChemTech Research.
