Abstract
Infectious diseases (IDs) have a significant burden on world economies and public health. The emergence of IDs is driven by socio-economic, ecological and environmental factors. There is a rapid increase in the incidence or geographic range of IDs. The biological research on IDs is producing more information that is close to the data end of the spectrum and these data cannot be published in traditional literature. The biological databases on IDs are taking the responsibility of scientific literature in distributing this information to the Researcher. Biological database research includes many steps such as biological data management, curation, quality, integration and mining. The modern biological databases comprise not only data, but also sophisticated query facilities and various data analysis tools. There are multitudes of web resources on IDs that are quite useful for the IDs scientific research community. In this review, we focused to deliver the fundamental aspects of IDs and the importance of biological databases for IDs which might be providing the reason for the requirement of IDs databases by research community. © RJPT.
