The internet is always transforming into some new kind of hardware and software making it inexorable for anyone. The aim of this paper is to give an overview of Internet of Things with an emphasis on microelectromechanical system sensors in IoT applications. In the sensors domain, MEMS will play an important role due to its superior characteristics compared to other sensor counterparts. For IoT prediction to successfully transpire, the computing paradigm will need to go and expand into connecting everyday objects and implanting intelligence into our environment. © 2017 Pushpa Publishing House, Allahabad, India.
