Abstract
The morphological information present in the biological tissues shows self similar behavior by the fluctuation of refractive index can be employed in the primal detection of cancer. The early detection of cancer leads to appropriate diagnosis to either control or cure cancer, as at later stages the patient may not respond to the treatment. The suspicious tissues are scanned by Differential Interference Contrast (DIC) Microscope. These scanned images can be utilized to assess the cancerous cells. The Time Frequency distribution (TFD) approach is applied for number of biological images which are non-stationary in nature. The variations in the frequency content with time can be known by the TFD. It leads to the Time-Frequency representation (TFR) to quantify and measure the changes in the nature of images which exhibits as an effective method for implementation. Multi resolution analysis carrying the absolute phase of the images fits the use of Stockwell Transform (ST) and is superior over its existing identical methods like Fourier transform, Short Time Fourier Transform, Wavelet Transform, Fourier transform. In literature, the S-Transform has been used for instantaneous processing of signals such as in speech, communication, music, medical imaging, image transmission/ compression, Geophysics/ Geosciences, Sound/ Acoustic Engineering, Astronomy/ Astrophysics etc. The ST provides the effective way of obtaining the energy concentration of the images. The ST introduces the method of enhancing the brightness of the image excluding the disturbances which arises and includes the application of ST or amplitude preserving S-transform for early detection of cancer. © 2018, Institute of Advanced Scientific Research, Inc.
