This paper presents the customizable design and implementation of a low cost smart multipurpose remote controlled digital clock based on ATmega8A microcontroller and DS1307 RTC. This smart clock is able to display the current Time, Date, and Day and also display the current Temperature, Light intensity on a single 16*2 LCD display by using the TMP35 and LDR sensor. Alarm set, Snooze set, Time set, Date set, and automatic morning alarm, automatic night lamp and many more features can be set by using setting keys or TV Remote keys. It is able to Sense the fire by using the fire sensor and give the different sound by using buzzer. Power saving and back-up features are provided by coin cell battery. © Research India Publications.
