Abstract
The world's demand for fossil fuels is increasing day by day. But due to rapid depletion of fossil fuels, we are in the position to find alternate fuels to meet our demand. Biogas, Biodiesel and Fuel Cells are some of the notable alternatives in the future perspective. It has been experimentally determined that for the production of biogas, the raw material should contain any of the following: fiber or glucose or carbohydrates. In this research work, an attempt will be made to decrease the digestion time and thus improving the efficiency of digester unit which is using jack fruit waste as raw material. This raw material is found to contain significant quantity of fiber with small proportions of glucose. To boost the biogas production, chemical catalysts are going to be added to maintain pH and C/N ratio. In this research work, the C/N ratio is going to be maintained at 25 to 35 by adding appropriate quantity of NaHCO 3 , which will automatically maintain pH. Moreover, the experiments are going to be conducted with 5{\%} slurry concentration at 1.5g/l catalyst concentration.
