Facial recognition being a complex technology has achieved tremendous results with the help of expressive development in mathematical theory on multivariate statistics and multi-media technology. Color face recognition becomes important, whose key problem is how to make full use of the color information and extract effective discriminating features. Many color face recognition methods have been presented in the past years to solve these problems. This research work is focused on discussing various research methods that focus on finding the efficient feature extraction and machine learning methods which is used to avoid main challenges and produce optimal solutions. This research also intends to reiterate several face recognition technologies clearly and then proceeds to analyze the merits and shortcomings of these technologies. The experimental results are conducted and it is compared against each other to find the better approach under various performance measures. The performance metrics are considered such as recognition rate, Peak Signal to Noise Ratio (PSNR) and Structural Similarity (SSIM) measures evaluated for several databases to analysis better technique. © 2018, Institute of Advanced Scientific Research, Inc..
