Abstract
In this paper, a split ring resonator (SRR) loaded with cylindrical dielectric resonator antenna (DRA) for application in wideband circularly polarized presented has been presented. The orthogonal mode in DRA is excited by using a question shaped microstrip feed line to realized circular polarization. Here SRR is used for input impedance matching only. In this antenna HEM11δ mode has been excited and observed by rotation of E-field inside the cylindrical DRA. This designed antenna offers -10 dB input impedance bandwidth of 38.17% (centered at 3.17 GHz) and 3-dB axial ratio bandwidth in broadside direction of 19.26% (centered at 3.01 GHz). In addition, this antenna offers left-handed circular polarization (LHCP), stable gain and radiation efficiency in broadside direction. Designed antenna is appropriate for WiMAX (3.3-3.7 GHz) applications. © 2017 URSI.
