Abstract
In this paper, a wideband circularly polarized slotted rectangular dielectric resonator antenna (RDRA) has been presented. Orthogonal modes have been excited by using a cross-slot of unequal lengths to show the circular polarization in slotted RDRA. The proposed antenna offers -10 dB impedance bandwidth of 18.37% (at center frequency 3.70 GHz) and 3-dB axial ratio bandwidth of 18.37% (at center frequency 3.70 GHz) in the broadside direction (θ = 0°, φ = 0°). It has been observed that the proposed antenna show the right hand circular polarization. The average gain and radiation efficiency is 4.08 dB and 83.23% in the broadside direction. This antenna is suitable for Wi-MAX application band (3.3-3.7 GHz). © 2015 IEEE.
