Abstract
The programmable thermostat is designed to control the Heating,Ventilation and Air conditioning (HVAC) systems. Heating,Ventilation and Air conditioning (HVAC) systems provide the people inside buildings with conditioned air so that they will have a comfortable and safe work environment. A programmable thermostat is both a programmer and a room thermostat. A programmer allows you to set on and off time periods to suit your own lifestyle. A room thermostat works by sensing the air temperature, switching on the heating when the air temperature falls below the thermostat setting, and switching it off once this set temperature has been reached. High-end programmable thermostat have key issues such as less memory, less CPU cycle, cost, separation of concerns. Present Thermostat by its hardware are provided with Wi-Fi and Z-wave protocol in order to connect with the server and provide remote access to handheld device. This approach is based on web based light weight framework work that utilizes less memory of the device. There are work done to design the thermostat using flash and action scripting language this has an overhead of utilizing more memory and CPU cycle. This work eliminates the z-wave protocol to perform the remote accesses of the programmable thermostat in order to provide a remote monitoring and control via Internet of the HVAC system thereby reducing the cost of the device. © 2016,International Journal of Pharmacy and Technology.
