Abstract
This paper presents the empirical analysis on reducing the electricity bill of residential consumers by smart distribution of power. The paper proposes the necessity of smart way of scheduling the residential loads with Time of Tariff (ToT) system along with roof-top solar energy system. The consumers can also act as power producer and they can sell. Nearby consumers are allowed to purchase the produced power from neighbors at the rate of lower cost on comparing with electricity board (EB). Obviously this paper describes these concepts and develops the model in MATLAB/Simulink with three residential buildings. The load curves of three buildings are plotted using simulation and variation of annual cost of each building is evaluated. © 2017 IEEE.
