Abstract
At the time of data access across the network, packet drop can occur due to the link failure or congestion. To reduce the packet drop rate in the wide range of the network we use cross layer approach (CL). The MAC sublayer along with link layer, physical layer, application layer is merging the function and provides traffic flow with ARQ in Wi-Max environments. When the packets are needed to be transferred then every node in the network is analyzed and maintained statically by the Access Point. Each node in the network sends and receive the data information through Access Point which can uplink and downlink feedback about packets as an ACK or NACK. The lost packet can be resent to the receiver accurately by using the ARQ-selective acknowledgements selectively and securely. This approach gives the better results for the performance of the TCP in the wireless network with bandwidth and end to end delay. © Research India Publications.
