Abstract
Communication means transferring of information from one person to another. People share their observations in verbal and non-verbal form through communication to be understood in formal and informal ways. Communication is nothing but exchanging ideas or receiving information in the form of signals or message through proper media, enabling people to persuade, to seek proper information, to provide information or express emotions. Primary and secondary data were used in the present study. By using the structural questionnaire the primary data for the study were collected from the Engineering Students of Vellore Institute of Technology. The secondary data were collected through wide range of literature review. This study followed empirical research. Stratified random sampling technique was used to select the sample for the study. The total sample size of the study are 120 students. The results indicated that all the F values have shown significant effect on student communication skills except four factors. The students should equip themselves with the construct and sub constructs of communication skills before they venture into the working world. These skills need to be combined and should be incorporated into the learning process. © IAEME Publication.
