Artificial bee colony based PD controller design for quanser qube servo

Abstract
In this paper, one of the most efficacious evolutionary algorithms Artificial Bee Colony (ABC) thatdependson intelligent foraging behavior of honey bee swarm is proposed to tune a PID controller for QuanserQube servo system used in drive control and robotics. Position control plays a major role in many industrial and commercial applications such as robotic arm position control, surgical robots, solar tracking system, wind turbine position control, conveyor belts, cutting machines, printers etc. Qube servo model is identified through bump test modeling. This system is simulated with standard PID and ABC-PID controllers using MATLAB and their results are compared. ABC-PID controller is found to be a fruitful method for qube servo with better time domain specifications. © 2020, Institute of Advanced Scientific Research, Inc.. All rights reserved.
