There are so many time delay systems in process industry. This time delay causes an undesired output response. Recent works in the process industry have developed smith predictive Proportional Integral Derivative (PID) controller based on Model Reference Adaptive System (MRAS) for time delayed processes. MRAS is used to control the PID parameters so that response will follow the reference and smith predictor for eliminating the time delay and oscillations. This paper introduces smith predictive PID controller based on MRAS for first, second and third order systems and results are compared with ordinary Z-N (Ziegler Nichols) method. We are also carrying out the performance analysis of each system based on proposed method and classical Z-N approach. Simulation is carried out using the MATLAB and simulink and the results are compared for different adaptation gain also. © 2020, Institute of Advanced Scientific Research, Inc.. All rights reserved.
