Boost inverter: A new proportional integral control strategy for resistive and motor loads using genetic algorithm

Abstract
In this paper the genetic algorithm has been used to tune the proportional constant and the integral constant of the proportional integral controller that has been used in the boost inverter system. Among existing inverters, the boost inverter is the most promising choice for systems utilizing DC energy sources as it provides the most high quality sinusoidal output waveform for the given DC input. The proposed genetic algorithm based boost inverter does not require any additional filter circuit to enhance the sinusoidal output waveform. Optimal results have been achieved when the genetic algorithm based boost inverter system was subjected to resistive load conditions and motor load conditions. The controller constants generated using the genetic algorithm, maintain the stable output voltage at steady state, load disturbances and transient conditions. © Research India Publications.
