The victim's body is source of all the required information which can lead to the criminal, only if we know how to interpret the signs. By external observation of the body and conducting autopsy we can find out the cause of the death, it could be poisoning, bullet, fatal injury or drowning which helps us in building the crime scenes. Although autopsy is a very reliable source for finding the cause of demise yet it's followed by many problems and resistance by many religions where tampering with the body is not allowed. It's also difficult if the body is of a young child. Virstuscopy is the new method to combat such problems, it's much more efficient and there is no damage to the body in the process .This review article will also give the overview of the different types of techniques used in determining the cause of death and I have also its scenario in India with respect to other countries.
