The World Wide Web is constituted of an ever growing number of web pages. Hence, navigation can become a tall order for the people browsing the Web. Search engines are tools of assistance that yield a number of web pages for a specific query. But identifying relevant web pages from the Web can be a herculean task. The above led to the development of ing algorithms. This paper illustrates how the web pages are linked to among each other. The best method to view the above relationship is as a web graph. Further, the paper discusses the methodologies and working of two famous ing algorithms – Google’s and HITS algorithm.
