As the field of power electronics is growing new topologies of inverters have been implemented to satisfy the requirements. This paper initially presents a symmetrical cascaded multilevel inverter and then presents a new proposed symmetrical cascaded multilevel inverter (9 levels) controlled by fuzzy logic. In this proposed method the number of switches is reduced from 16 to 10 by using two low frequency switches. In this method the THD is reduced and a satisfactory RMS output value can be obtained. In this paper RMS output value is controlled using MATLAB/fuzzy logic toolbox. All the Circuits are simulated using MATLAB/ SIMULINK and the results are presented to show the effectiveness. © 2014 IFAC.
