Data on third order nonlinear optical properties of 2-aminopyridine barium chloride (2APBC) crystal using Z-scan technique

Abstract
Data in this article briefs on 2APBC crystal grown by slow evaporation solution growth technique. The powder sample of 2APBC crystal was characterized by Powder X-Ray Diffraction (PXRD) analysis reveals that grown crystal has good crystalline nature. Unit cell lattice parameter values are a = 5.281 Å, b = 5.410 Å, c = 14.898 Å, α = β = γ = 90º and volume V = 425.638 Å3, which confirm that the grown 2-aminopyridine barium chloride (2APBC) crystal belongs to the orthorhombic crystal system with space group P212121. A well polished, defect less good transparent crystal was subjected to linear optical study. It is observed that the grown 2APBC crystal has good transparency in the entire visible region with cut-off wavelength (237 nm). The third order nonlinear optical properties like, nonlinear refractive index (n2), nonlinear absorption coefficient (β) and third order nonlinear optical susceptibility (χ3) were analyzed using Z-scan Technique for 2-aminopyridine barium chloride (2APBC) crystal. © 2019
