The phenomenal growth that has been evidently seen in the last two decades has brought a multifold development in the process industry. The experts have always focused upon the control of t he level and other process parameters. In this study we have chosen a real time Single Spherical Tank Liquid Level System (SSTLLS) for our investigation. The aim of this study is to compare the design and implementation of different PI controllers for the SSTLLS using Lab VIEW and NI-DAQmx 6211 data acquisition card. The real time model identification and Graphical User Interface (GUI) are discussed and their PI controller implementation using Lab VIEW are outlined. © 2015 Asian Network for Scientific Information.

Objectives: This study aims at designing an easy and a secured way of remote server based data logging using a data acquisition mechanism and HFS (http File Server) software. Methods/Statistical Analysis: Lab VIEW based remote data monitoring and controlling system is designed so as to view and analyze the fidelity of the data. This mechanism proves to be a secured data logger providing an increased access to the users in the loop, along with time stampings and many other additional features. A real time nonlinear process system was considered as a bench mark system for the purpose of logging the level data of it remotely. The Dual Spherical Tank Liquid Level System (DSTLLS) has been chosen and its continuously varying liquid levels are recorded and monitored remotely over the LAN, using remote Master-Slave architecture and File Transfer Server. Findings: It was found that these methods of the data logging prove to be faster and cheaper when compared to the existing methods. Classical algorithmic approach for the data transfer is being applied to facilitate the data logging process. Application/Improvements: There is scope of performing experiments on the data transfer mechanisms using different algorithms and analyzing their performance and efficiency in data logging process.

Implementation of a Multi User Secured Remote Data Logger for Real Time Hybrid System

The objective of this paper is to design a robust PI controller for a second order system plus delay (SOSPD) which has an inherent nonlinearity by the virtue of its structural dynamics. An example of Dual Spherical Tank Liquid Level System (DSTLLS), which is non linear, has been chosen to analyse the performance of the robust PI controller designed. The DSTLLS has been linearized and modelled using black box modelling technique by performing the real-time experimentation and the performance of the applied controller has been analysed in simulation by MATLAB Simulink. This paper also discusses about the simulation efficiency using the performance indices like Integrated Squared Error (ISE) and Integrated Absolute Error (IAE). © 2015 IEEE.

Linearized PI controller for real-time delay dominant second order nonlinear systems

One of the main problemsin the performance of process industries in first order plusdead time (FOPDT) system is because the presence of time delay in the system which can lead to destabilization of the system. This paper briefly explains about comparative study of two specified optimal performance controller modelling techniques like Two-Point Method (TPM) and Sunderesan and Krishnaswamy Method (SKM) with couple of tuning techniques. In this paper we have chosen a real time Single Spherical Tank Liquid Level System (SSTLLS) for our investigation. This system is considered for study of various control algorithms based on Skogested Internal Model Control (SIMC) tuning method, Chein-Hrones-Reswick (CHR) Auto tuning method for the time delay system. These controllers are compared in terms of performance and time domain specification. This research paper provides simulation results for the controller modelling using the MATLAB. © 2015 IEEE.
