Abstract
The proposed work deals with active clamp current-source inverter fed isolated dc-dc converter for fuel-cell. Proposed converter uses the isolation transformer leakage inductance to achieve Zero Voltage switching of main switches. Activeclamp concept is introduced in the topology to clamp and recycle the voltage stress during turn-off period. The main and active clamp switches are turned on by Zero Voltage switching which will reduce switching losses there by the converter efficiency will improve and we can use converter for high switching frequency operation. The above all advantages will make converter system more compact and less cost system. The active clamp converter is designed and simulated for 500W with an source voltage of 22V and the output from the converter obtained is 350V with load current 1.428A. © Research India Publications.
