Abstract
The design of ultra wideband(UWB) bandpass filter with a square ring resonator and coupled lines is proposed in this paper. The asymmetric coupled lines used on all four sides of the ring results in a compact filter of area 28 mm2. The filter is able to produce transmission zeros with control over them in the pass band. The insertion loss obtained in the passband is less than 0.7dB and the return loss is more than 20dB. The filter exhibits a fractional bandwidth of 52.88%. The bandwidth of the filter can be controlled by the number of coupled lines used. The corresponding increase in the bandwidth of the passband has been compared. © 2016 IEEE.
