Steel is very good structural design material due to its several advantages. Design of various structural members and the connections between them is an integral part of any steel structure design. The designer can choose any section according to forces acting on them and particular type of connection according to geometry of structure. Today due to complexity of problems and difficulty in repetitive task, designers face problem in achieving safety and economic design. Design tools and spreadsheets give better alternative option to reduce this complexity. In this paper, design tool is developed with the help of MS visual basic 6.0 for different types of steel connections. The designers can use these design tools for the repetitive and complex calculation mostly where existing software packages do not able to give results. After completion of the calculations, designers can get all these calculation in written format in MS word. © IAEME Publication.
