Abstract
The challenges in delivering the mobile communication with high speed internet, network coverage and services lead to the research in securing the data in mobile communication. Nowadays, data processing is mostly done in Smart phones this is due to the booming of smart phones with high speed internet. So we are in the situation to secure the data in the mobile authentication stage itself. As the key Ki is assigned in SIM at the subscription time itself, it must protect the data from the eavesdroppers. The 3GPP AKA retains the framework of the GSM AKA with enhancements such as mutual authentication and integrity key between the user and serving network. In this paper, we propose an authentication key agreement algorithm which is secure and able to solve the vulnerabilities in the communication system. This reduces the bandwidth utilization for authentication and number of transactions required for authentication is reduced. Extensive security analysis is performed with ProVerif have shown that DS-AKA is secure against malicious attacks.
