In this research paper we aim to approach the problem of early detection of cardiovascular accident (CVA) or what is commonly known as stroke, from a signal analysis standpoint. On the extensive frequency and waveform analysis of various stroke victims we found that there is an extension of the QRS complex before the stroke is about to strike. Using this as an indication we have developed a system, to warn the next of kin and emergency services so that the victim maybe treated within the golden hour and the effects of the stroke be reversed. QRS waveforms present the most amount of information that can be used for the detection of cardiovascular infractions. The time interval of the various elements of QRS waveform can be interpreted to give us information about the cardiovascular health. This waveform as seen from [1] can be easily obtained in the form of ECG signals and several analysis techniques have been developed to remove noise from such signal to obtain pure ECG signal. Our study and the development of the prototype is based on such analysis of the ECG signal where the RR interval is taken into account as the primary variable for the detection of cardiovascular attacks.
