Abstract
I-DAS is an existing research work (Kannan, S., et.al, 2010) modeled using ontology approach and tested for different vehicular safety case studies. The main goal of this paper is to describe the modeling aspect of Intelligent Driver Assistance system to meet the requirements of standardizing the vehicle safety features and vehicle safety standards ISO26262. I-DAS is modeled with the help of Architectural Description Language (ADL) which provides system modeling with well defined structure to overcome the development issues like system complexity, development time, cost and dependability. The common features supported by ADL are: graphical representation, formal definitions of syntax and semantics, aggregation, explicit description of complex components in hierarchical way and so on. © Research India Publications.
