In recent years almost all personally used computers (desktop, Laptop etc.) are coming with multiple cores. This Paper Deals with the usage of multiple cores effectively by various personal computer based Applications. With respect to hardware, how effective they are used for computations, process allocation and de allocation will decide the efficiency. There are different types of parallelizable scalar applications running in Personal computing devices. Various types of Processors exist in the market like intel Based Ix, GPUs(graphics Processing units) and GPGPU(General purpose GPU).This analysis will also include that how parallelism is achieved in different processors including hardware and compiler level parallelism. Image processing based applications needs high performance computing. In this paper we took face recognition algorithm to test with different Intel Ix processors. we conclude with the results achieved in face recognition application based on performance of multi-cores in desktop computations. © 2016, International Journal of Pharmacy and Technology.
