Abstract
With the continuous exhaustion of fuel in today's modern world it becomes a necessity for us to use the available fuel in more efficient way. In this paper technique where loads are regulated with the help of fuzzy logic has been designed. The UPS system has been designed which employs control algorithms which help it to take battery charging and discharging decisions on the basis of available charge in the battery. The UPS has been controlled with the help of ATMEGA328 microcontroller. The fuzzy logic has been implemented in the microcontroller and load is regulated with the help of relay. Microcontroller detects the available energy from the NCES and from the mains in order to control the relay to charge the battery with maximum available energy and Battery level monitoring accordingly controls the Relays to connect the load. Since the nature of climate being erratic and the energy that is not available is not constant the energy obtained from WECS or SECS is used to charge the battery using the algorithm developed with the help of DSP processor which ensures the utilization of both WECS and SECS and the optimum utilization of the both the energy system is achieved. On the load side battery efficient utilization has been achieved by monitoring the energy data and based on the persistent of maximum value of energy the renewable energy is directly used to supply the load. If this system is implemented on larger scale, it will assist in managing the load demand, improving the system reliability. Also, the Operators will have better management of available energy resources and and efficient use of nonconventional energy sources. © 2013 IEEE.
