Abstract
The customers survey technique for outage cost estimation has been widely used by electric utilities in the developed countries. Customers surveys conducted in developing countries are rarely reported. Very few outage cost customers surveys conducted in developing countries are reported in the literature for residential, industrial and commercial customer categories. However, this is the first attempt to evaluate customers' electricity supply outage cost for offices belonging to both government and non-government organizations, academic and financial institutions, scientific and technical organizations in a developing country. The customer survey methodology and its findings are presented in the paper. The sector customer damage function (SCDF) is obtained for the surveyed customer category. © 2010 IEEE.
