In the era of Big Data, extremely complicated data is delivered from the system, of which it is impossible to collect the correct information with an online platform. In this research work, it provides a hybrid model for a movie-based recommender system; based on meta-heuristic firefly algorithm and fuzzy c-means (FCM) clustering technique to evaluate rating of a movie for a specific user based on the similarity of users and historical data. The firefly algorithm was employed in the movie lens dataset to get the initial cluster and also to initialize the position of clusters. FCM is used to classify the similarity of the user ratings. The proposed collaborative recommender system performed well regarding accuracy and precision. Various metrics are used in a movie lens dataset like mean absolute error (MAE), precision, and recall. The experimental result delivered by the system provides more efficient performance compared to the existing system in term of mean absolute error (MAE).

Hybrid Model for Movie Recommendation System Using Fireflies and Fuzzy C-Means

We have synthesized minor groove imidazole functionalized (S)-BINOL from (S)-BINOL. The molecule has been designed in such a way that this molecule introduces new opportunities in the field of chiral recognition and Cu(II) sensing. The developed sensor has high selectivity for Cu(II) among the metal ions tested by fluorescence turn off manner. The fluorescence chiral discrimination towards unmodified α-aminoacids has been studied for the in situ generated Cu(II) complex of 1 which shows remarkable results. The ligand displacement mechanism can be attributed for the fluorescent chiral discrimination. © 2017 Elsevier B.V.

Enantioselective recognition of unmodified amino acids by ligand-displacement assays with in situ generated 1:1 Cu(II)- BINOL imidazole complex

Two BINOL based boronate esters, namely (S)-2 and (S)-3, were designed and synthesized. Fluorescent recognition studies of (S)-2 towards enantiomers of mandelic acid revealed that sensor (S)-2 exhibited high fluorescent enantioselective response towards mandelic acid. The other boronate ester (S)-3 which did not have hydroxyl group in the minor groove of BINOL did not show any fluorescent chiral discrimination. Their enantioselective recognition was also studied by means of1H NMR spectroscopy. The results indicated that the sensor (S)-2 was very promising as a chiral fluorescent sensor for the recognition of chiral carboxylic acid in THF solvent. Theoretically predicted hydrogen bonding interactions revealed a favorable chiral recognition between the receptor and L-mandelic acid, which is well correlated with experimentally observed enantioselective recognition phenomenon. © 2016 Elsevier B.V.
