Abstract
The present work focuses on comparing the performance of precast and monolithic wall joints subjected to cyclic loading. Experiments were conducted on 1/3 scale models of six types of precast wall connections and a monolithic connection. Precast walls were cast in two parts and the connections were made at 1/3rd height above footing slab. Reinforcement bars with different arrangements were used as dowels in the first three precast walls. Structural steel angle embedment with different configurations was used in the other three precast walls. Cyclic loads were applied manually till the failure of the specimens. The experimental results like ultimate load, displacements, cracking pattern, ductility and energy dissipation are compared to evaluate the performance of the developed connections. © 2019, Institute of Advanced Scientific Research, Inc.
