Fair resource allocation mechanism allocates resources to different users or hosts in an efficient manner alleviating starvation of certain nodes. This ultimately utilizes the channel capacity effectively. The proposed mechanism uses priority of request and reduction ratio to reduce the number of resources required by the client. When a user requests for resources the threshold value is checked to allocate resources along with the priority of request to solve the starvation problem. When resources are scarce, the resources are allocated based on the reduction ratio. This study aims to analyze various fair resource allocation schemes to avoid congestion and improves the performance of network considerably. © 2016, International Journal of Pharmacy and Technology.
