Abstract
In recent years, Concrete is one of the common material used in the construction. When the member is subjected to a sustained load, it leads to the deterioration of the structure due to the presence of creep. In this paper, for determining the elastic modulus of concrete, the B3 model integrated with the multiscale modeling is proposed. The proposed method requires only the information of the concrete mixes, which will be useful in studying the various concrete mixes with respect to the creep of concrete. It was found that there was a slight variation of 10% in the predicted values when compared to the experimental values and the proposed model gives the better results. With the known value of creep compliance obtained from the proposed method, the short – term and the long – term deflection were calculated for a simply supported reinforced concrete beam. The proposed method is validated using the MATLAB software. © Research India Publications.
