Abstract
From ancient times images are being used for varying reason from personal to scientific to research. For that, Images needs to be either stored or transmitted across the network to other party. Due to security reasons, intended users may not store or transmit the image as plain. But if images are subjected to encryption, the resultant image is always a noise like and, there will always be a suspicion by the unintended third person. To avoid suspicion, optimization is done on the encrypted image to make them visually meaningful. The proposed method is to split a single color image into three images, i.e., Red image, Green image and Blue image which are encrypted separately and later merged into a single color image and then wavelet transformation is applied to render the encrypted image visually meaningful. Based on the experimental results, the proposed method is rated good on visual perceptibility of encrypted image and proved to be superior over other methods. © IAEME Publication.
