Nowadays, Renewable energy sources play a vital role in contributing to world’s energy consumption. Among the various sources photovoltaic power is considered as the potential alternative enough to meet the energy needs, due to its abundance and sustainable nature. To obtain the maximum power from the photovoltaic system Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO) based MPPT controller is designed. The system is implemented with the help of PIC microcontroller. Output power is measured under shading condition. The output received is almost constant irrespective of the irradiance pattern.
