In this paper the performance of a cognitive radio (CR) enabled Device-to-device (D2D) network has been studied. The cellular user (CU) is sharing its resources with the D2D network. A D2D device at first senses the CU channel and accesses it in hybrid spectrum access scheme which is a combination of both underlay as well as overlay schemes. The performance of the D2D network has been investigated with regards to the total throughput for several sensing parameters. © 2019 IEEE.
