Abstract
Today research mainly depends on microbial enzymes since it is involved in most of the reactions. Xylan is hemicelluloses, one of the chief constituents in plant cell walls. It is a linear polymer of β-D-xylopyranosyl with 1, 4 Glycosidic bonds. The enzyme xylanase is responsible for degradation of Xylans. Xylanases are industrially exploited enzyme which acts on xylan and produces xylooligosaccharides, xylobiose and xylose, having gathered many industrial interests for manufacture of beverages, textiles, as supplements in animal feed, production of ethanol and xylitol and bleaching of cellulose pulp etc. This enzyme is formed by fungi, bacteria, algae, yeast, protozoans, crustaceans etc. The isolation and screening of bacteria along with production and extraction of xylanase will be discussed in this article. Technology in this direction is rudimentary. So, to enhance the understanding of the processes kinetics models present vital mathematical demonstrations of the practices. Kinetic model helps in administering fermentative processes and reveals the recurrently unobserved variables including specific growth rate, production and upholding coefficients. Their control is fundamental in the system depiction. The article aims to screen, identify and comprehend the xylanase producing bacteria from wood dumping area and paper industry and review the adaptations and significance of enzymes along with their applications. The crude enzyme was successfully extracted from the biomass with the reaction mixture giving an absorbance of 192 at 575nm, which proves the presenceof xylanase producing bacterial population in and around wood and paper dumping areas. © IJSTR 2019.
