This paper envisages to identify an optimal topology of DC-DC converter for the solar pump application, by comparing the performance indices of the three advanced non-isolated converters namely Landsman converter, Luo converter and Zeta converter. The identified best topology of the non-isolated DC-DC converter, which basically operates in the mode of buck-boost converters cascaded to a three phase voltage source inverter (VSI), which is connected to a permanent magnet brushless DC (PMBLDC) motor. The whole system is front ended to a PV panel. In order to obtain the maximum power transfer to the load, a popular maximum power point tracking (MPPT) technique, Perturb and Observe (P&O) has been implemented.
