Image processing refers to processing of 2D picture with the use of computer. Nowadays image processing techniques have been used in variety of application. Cellular automata also can be used in image processing. In this paper we are discussing about some of the image processing techniques like edge detection, noise reduction, point operation that deals with brightness modification and contrast adjustment. All these techniques deal with image enhancement. For noise reduction we are using Gaussian filter. This paper provides explanation about image enhancement techniques and noise reduction using cellular automata. © Research India Publications.
