Abstract
Integration of solar and wind energies into the grid in order to meet the imperative demand of a clean and reliable electrical power generation. In this case, grid stability and robustness may be disturbed due to the intermittency and interaction of the solar and wind generations. And also in hybrid system due to three phase symmetrical faults causes voltage sag/swell, frequency fluctuation and harmonics. This can be resolved to a large extent by using proper FACTS devices integration with hybrid system. This paper provides a review of challenges and solutions of hybrid solar PV and wind energy integration systems under three phase symmetrical faults. © 2018, Institute of Advanced Scientific Research, Inc.
