Integration of Solar Photovoltaic with Battery Storage for Power Conditioning of Dynamic Loads

Abstract
The solar photovoltaic system plays vital role in the modern DC micro grid systems due to clean power and freely available in nature. The abundant and day variability solar power is intermittent in nature. The availability of solar power efficiently and effectively utilizes with the use of battery storage systems. In this work, the solar photovoltaic with the battery storage system is investigated. The stochastic nature of solar power is extracted using intelligent controller based maximum power point tracking method. The battery storage system is interface with the DC link through the bi-directional DC-DC converter. The battery charge controller is implemented with the proportional and integral control. The solar photovoltaic with battery storage system provides the flexible power to the load continuously based on the battery state of the charge. The dynamic variations in the source and load performance are simulated in the MATLAB-Simulink software. © 2019 IEEE.
