The adventure of IoT has begun with a new path and direction of innovative research and agricultural domain. IoT needs various experimental activities as to get widely applied in various agricultural applications. In this survey paper, we have reviewed some various interesting patterns and potential IoT applications and the specific issues and challenges associated in applying IoT in agriculture and to improving farming in the agricultural field. Mainly focus on specific requirements on devices, wireless communication, technologies. Further, this paper proposes an agricultural comprehensive survey on all elements in order to minimize farmer’s risk. It addresses various IoT application areas in agriculture across the world and to determine how they can facilitate the various concerns related to agriculture for sustainable development, and it provides some avenues for future research on IoT based agriculture based on set of open issues and challenges overhead.
