The present study is ail attempt to evaluate the hepatoprotective and anti-oxidant properties of Triphala against bromobenzene (BB) induced hepatotoxicity in rats. Hepatotoxicity was induced in rats by a single oral dose of BB (10 mmol/kg b.w) on first day of the study. Two different doses (250 mg/kg b.w and 500 mg/kg b.w) of Triphala were administered to the bromobenzene intoxicated rats for 8 days. The standard hepatoprotective drug siiyinarin was used as reference drug for comparison. Bromobenzene treatment resulted in a significant (p < 0.05) decrease in the activities of anti-oxidant enzymes; cataiase (CAT), superoxide dismutase
